Alhamdulillah, a Suhba hotel has been secured. It is the same hotel we hosted the previous Egypt Suhba in 2019. 

The Suhba will take place in the same hotel of residence. 

Please note that the hotel is made up mostly of hotel apartments with a capacity to accommodate groups in shared apartments. 

You have hotel accommodation options ranging from: 

Individual Accommodation: 

• Sofa bed in a shared apartment
• Single Bed in a shared apartment

Group Accommodation

• Small Group (2-3) 
• Large Group (4-5) 

If you’re registering for individual accommodation, we ask for your grace in accepting our random choice of roommates.  

Female Registration: 

The Sheikh discourages young females from traveling to the Suhba without “mehrem”. 

There are limited rooms that have been reserved so please read below and use the special Suhba link to reserve your rooms ASAP. Deadline to book is (Jan10 2024).

Deadline: The suhba rate will only be available via the link below UNTIL (Jan10) so please book by then. Accommodation booking will be closed early if all rooms are fully booked.

Parents are strongly encouraged to find alternate childcare arrangements, as child activities will not be provided. 

There will be a separate room for parents (Mum) and children with a live audio/video feed. 

No children under 13 will be allowed in the main hall when the Sheikh is speaking. 

Please ensure that your children are quiet during prayer times.

Maqam trip to be decided at the Suhba inshaa’ Allah and will be paid on site. Please make sure you have up to $100 in cash for the trip.

      Out of respect for the sacred knowledge being taught, cellphones must be off/silent and left outside the hall.

Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations prior to (Jan 15), will be issued a full refund. Any cancellations thereafter will be issued a 50% refund. 

Other important terms and conditions

• Cell phones must be silent/off during the sessions.
• Masks must be worn inside the suhba hall during lessons at all times.

Visas

Murids are responsible for finding out what the visa requirements are based on their residency and nationality.

British nationals, for example, can purchase visas upon arrival from one of the bank kiosks prior to passport check. The cost is usually $25/20 GBP and is to be paid in cash (in foreign currency, not in Egyptian pounds). Occasionally, one of the banks permits visa payments.

Passport check

If murids are asked about the purpose of their visit at the passport check, they should cite tourism and give Monte Cairo hotel as the address, if asked.

It’s advisable to be in western clothing at the airport. Travelling in a large group at the airport wearing kufis and traditional attire may lead to further questions and delays.

Transportation from airport

Uber is very efficient and relatively inexpensive to use in Egypt. Murids can book an Uber once they have passed the passport check and collected their luggage. Simply type ‘Monte Cairo Resort’ into the Uber app.

Airport wifi is temperamental, so use data roaming to make the booking or buy a local sim card from the Vodafone, Etisalat, We, or Orange booths which will be in front of you before you exit the airport.

Alternatively, a private airport transportation service is available at the cost of $50 round trip organized by a private tourism agency called MAQAM.

Please note that suhba organizers are not in charge of this service nor responsible for maintaining contact with its employees.

Hotel

Please note that spouses and families staying at the hotel (or any other hotel in Egypt) may be asked by hotel management to provide a copy (digital photo) of their marriage certificate. This is a government requirement imposed on all hotels.

Maqam visits

Assalamualaikum,

Sidi Sheikh Nuh (hafidhahu Allah ta'ala) has asked that we add a lesson after Salat al-Dhuhr to all three days of the Suhba.

As such, all ziyarah trips booked with MAQAM will take place at Fajr instead of between dhuhr and asr prayers.

There will be no ziyarah trips organised by MAQAM during the day or between lessons.

Those who have already booked ziyarahs with MAQAM please reach out to them to align on alternate departure times.
